While the continent was initially under the rule of just the Elven Lord of the Mountain, new regions and kingdoms were eventually established, each declaring their independence.
To the east was the Kingdom of the Sun, with its capital in the city of Sunclaw. Their culture and beliefs centered around the sun, agriculture, and the ancient Gods that led to the creation of the universe. One day, something from above, described by witnesses as a piece of the sun, crashed into the ground, creating a momentary lake of lava. The splash immediately hardened into a mountain. The ore and material mined from the mountain maintained higher temperatures, allowing it to be tempered to a stronger hardness than most metals. This established a new city named The Sunfall, creating a disruption in the balance of power in the region. The Kingdom of the Sun then broke up into what is referred to today as The Eastern Kingdoms.
The kingdoms of The Sunfall, Anhana, Midhaul, Falconspike, The Green Sea, Qogi, and Sunclaw were established.
After various wars and conflicts, including the quarantine and mysterious destruction of Sunclaw, The Sunfall became the capital of the Kingdom. The Sun King granted ownership of the Southern Mines to his head general, Jareth Bloodskin. Jareth became known as The Shadow Lord because the city sat in the shadows of the mountain and never saw direct sunlight. He was known as a cruel lord who worked his people to death in the mines under the mountain, mining for a key ingredient used in the forging of Sunfall equipment. He received shipments of gold for his loyalty that never made their way to his people.
