Sarqen's Dream

Sarqen found himself wandering in a strange, otherworldly realm. The sky above him was a deep, inky black, and he could barely see his own hands in front of his face. The only light came from a strange, flickering shadow that seemed to be moving towards him.

As the shadow drew closer, it began to take on the form of a large, twisted mirror. Sarqen could see his own reflection, but it was distorted and blurred, like an image seen through water. He felt a sense of unease as he looked at it, as though there was some dark secret he was trying to hide from himself.

Suddenly, the mirror shattered into a thousand shards, and Sarqen found himself standing in front of a massive, otherworldly beast. The creature was eating a tree with innumerable branches, each one representing a possible path or destiny.

Sarqen felt a sense of dread as he realized that the beast was devouring the branches, one by one. He knew that if he didn't act quickly, his own destiny would be lost forever.

As he watched, a figure appeared before him, dressed in the attire of a King of the Wilds. It was his past self, older and wiser, wearing a crown that seemed to be made of both wood from a tree that swirled with the colors of the sunset and iron from the forges of the Sunfall.

Sarqen looked at his past self. Then he saw a vision of his family, his daughter Asqen looking at him with disappointment and anger, and his clan in shambles.

Then he saw a glimmer of light in the distance. It was a reflection of himself, standing tall and proud, his crown shining with a brilliant light.

As the dream faded away, Sarqen opened his eyes, feeling a sense of disorientation. He realized that he had been in a deep meditative state, but the dream had felt so real that he was unsure whether it had actually happened or if it had been a product of his imagination.
